"Don't hurt her!"

I looked behind me to see Aaron on his feet. His hands were up as he ordered me to stop. My hands dropped, and I immediately went towards him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"She helped me," he said, in a voice that sounded like a whisper.

He looked weak.

"But she ....." I couldn't believe that the lady could help Aaron.

I mean how? Or was it the other way round?

"She did nothing but help me," he repeated, making me look back at the lady, my supposed mate, ...
