DIMITRI

I fired the arrow at a go, and it found its way into the doe’s side, just before it could fully escape from my trap. Watching it drop on the ground, dead, I let out a victorious grin, flooded with relief.

“Get it.” My head turned slightly and I signaled to one of my guards.

Who merely hesitated a second before rushing forward to perform the task. Once he’s gotten the doe and returned to his spot with it slung over his shoulder, I took the lead.

“Let’s get going.” ...
