I kicked the pebbles on the pathway absentmindedly as I walked home. After alighting from the bus, I did not feel the need to go home just yet so I opted for a walk instead.

I had left Mel's home shortly after the incident with Matilda. Mel was distressed and I had no idea how to comfort her, I have never had siblings after all so I had no choice but to give her the space she needed.
