Chapter 5: Theron's POV

“I want my girl back!” He thunders with a gun pointed at me.

I'm also mirroring his actions, amused by the fact that he's so audacious, the fucker.

“Find it hard to share?” I ask, my nose wrinkling from the dust flying around.

The brown-haired bastard is so much of a coward that he couldn't see me on his own.

I don't blame him though.

After what he did, if I ever got a chance to meet him outside the barrack, I won't hesitate to blow his head off.

“You animal, Elettra is mine. Give her back to me or face my wrath.” He threatens, his jaw ticking.

“Stupid officer. Your wrath didn't make you bold enough to visit me outside of here?” I ask, scowling at the troop of other officers gathering round us.

“You're so hungry for my blood Don Theron. You'll be starving for a long time!” He grins.

He isn't wrong.

Every inch of my soul burns to see his body filled up with bullets.

“It may tarry, but I will surely have your head.” I see his face flicker with a flash of fear, quickly replaced by a frown.

“The issue is between us. You didn't have to involve my woman, set her free!” He arches his brows.

I never knew Elettra was his lover until now, and the thought of it makes my stomach twist.

But he doesn't need to know that.

“Taking your woman makes us even. After all, you murdered my woman,” I remind him, trying to keep the image of her lifeless body out of mind.

“She was a criminal, like you. She deserved death,” He hissed.

My heart starts racing, my temple starts throbbing with rage that settles hard on my face.

Without thinking, I pull the trigger.

The sound blares through the open space, making the birds on the trees nearby fly away.

His stupidly big brown eyes widen in terror as the bullet brushes past his face at only an inch.

I don't miss my targets. That is a warning.

“Don, you're starting a very dangerous rivalry!” He yells.

I scoff, “The rivalry has always been there. You were just not smart enough to clock it.”

The sudden killings of army officers, the burning of barracks, the extortion from officers.

They all started two years ago.

When he killed my woman.

The bastard must have thought I was just violence hungry. This is more than that.

Jason lowers his gun, his brows tightening as his shoulders slump.

I breathe a laugh, “Surrendering already?”

“Set her free and I promise I'll never come after you again,” he pleads, his brown eyes sparkling with an emotion I didn't expect to see.

Fear.

Fear of losing Elettra forever.

And that makes my blood boil.

She was mine–mine to destroy, mine to own.

I am never giving up that woman, even though the fury in her eyes burns for revenge.

That fury can be nurtured into something more dangerous, and I am not giving that up.

“Publicly announce your donation of a hundred officers to my Mafia Group, and I will set her free,” I smirk.

Jason's fists curl, “Nonsense! I will never do such a thing!”

“Exactly! The way you value justice, I value my possession. She's mine now,” I say, my lips turning up in a lopsided grin.

“Have it your way then!” Jason raises his gun back to me and the fucker actually pulls the trigger.

This is his second mistake.

His first is asking for Elettra.

“Nico! Dee! Ammazzateli tutti, tranne questo bastardo!"

“Kill them all, except this bastard!”

I order, and the men standing by my side start a blood bath.

The sound of gunshots coming from both sides of the barrack threatens to burst my eardrum.

“Argh!” Jason keeps shooting at me but I dodge every bullet, moving closer to him with my gun pointed at him.

In a matter of minutes, the officers standing by Jason were now laying lifeless on the ground, with thick blood soaking the sandy ground.

Two men face off with twenty officers, with all officers dead, except Jason.

My men are skilled like that.

If they won this with as much as a scratch from those men, I would have shot them as punishment.

Jason's eyes widen as he looks to his right and left, he swallows nervously but his gun is still pointed at me.

“You killed them all! The government will come after you!” He threatens.

At this point, I can see his facade of toughness cracking.

“You say it like any of you silly officers are bold enough to come near my estate.” I laugh.

“I'll kill you!” He yells, pulling the trigger on his gun but there's nothing coming out.

Pathetic.

I lowered my gun to his thigh, “This is for pulling the trigger on me.”

I release the trigger and he groans, clutching his thigh as veins pop out of his sweaty face.

“And this is for demanding my woman.” I say, releasing another bullet in the same thigh but with more force.

“Argh, fuck!” Jason pants, as the bullet hole starts gushing out with blood.

I turn around, striding towards my vehicle with a satisfied smile.

Nico sits beside me while Dee drives as fast as he can.

We soon arrive at my mansion and my third in command is pacing back and forth on a call.

She must have done something stupid.

“What is the problem?” I ask, causing her to halt in her tracks.

She straightens her back with a stern look, though her heavy breathing suggests she's scared, “Don, Elettra is missing.”

And the news almost hurts as much as a bullet would.

“What the fuck did you say?!”
