Ava's seventh date left in anger while Ava stared off, blankly. She hoped that she got through to him and matched his seriousness.
His requirements weren't something she could fulfill and not something she would let herself fall into.
Her gaze fell outside just in time to see her seventh date driving off.
The blind dates she had in the second day were ones she had to turn them down. Ava felt bad sitting through a blind date when she knew she wasn't interested in it. She also felt bad for wasting their time.
No one had really caught her eyes yet.
Her pen circled over the seventh blind date's name and she left a remark. 'Never.'
As she gazed out the window, waiting on the next person, Nathaniel glanced at her from a far distance before looking away.
The remaining three persons were normal and didn't have any requirements for her like the seventh one. For that, Ava was glad. She didn't want to deflate anyone's balloon again.
The last one though was clumsy and a little nervous. He kept apologizing and he fumbled a little. He made her imagine having a little brother.
The coffee spilled on the table as he tried to hold the cup. "I'm sorry." He was brewing disasters left and right.
Ava laughed and used some napkins to damp over it before it spilled on his clothes. "It's alright. Calm down. I'm not going to hit you. Besides, we can just get another one."
He shook his head. "Let's not order another one. I keep getting nervous and spilling things. The table might change colour."
Even though he was a klutz, he was well aware of it and was a little funny. It made Ava laugh.
"Alright. I won't order anything again." She assured him. "Victor, may I ask, how old are you?"
Victor- the last person for the day, looked up at Ava. "I'm twenty one. It's in the file you have."
He pointed to the file in front of Ava, on the table. This made Ava think of something.
"You know of this file?"
Victor nodded and said. "We all have it. At least that what I've heard."
"That's what you've heard?"
"Oh someone made a group and added me. Turns out that all your others dates are in it too. We confirmed that we all got the file as well." Victor told her.
Ava began to wonder how this has turned out to be a very meticulous plan.
"Can I see the group?"
"I don't mind." Victor took out his phone, entered the group and handed it to her.
Ava took his phone and looked through it. There were fifty members. She scrolled through the chats and saw some reviews about her from the past men she had met.
Any bad reviews?
She scrolled through the chat and read some.
[Miss Ava is quite serious about business. She would do great in the field.] Oh Mellor. That was her first blind date.
[She is very open minded and mature.]
[Miss Ava gave me a lot of advice on my relationship. She's not bad.]
[She gave me advice as well. I went home and landed myself a girlfriend thanks to her. Because of this, I promise only to use her family's hotels from now on.]
Ava laughed. She recognized their names as people she met. Thankfully, she had helped someone get a girlfriend.
Further along, they was a message that caught her eye.
[It looks to me like she was not taking this blind date seriously. She is not suited to be my wife.]
That tone remembered her of someone. When she checked the name, she figured it out. It was her seventh date from today.
He left quite the comment about her. She hoped it wouldn't rub the others the wrong way. She had thirty people left to meet, if they thought bad about her she wouldn't be able to form a connection, much less find someone she was interested in.
Victor saw the change in her expression. "Actually, the reason I came here is for relationship advice."
Ava looked up from the phone with a small smile. "I guess my trade has traveled far by the word of mouth."
Victor smiled sheepishly as Ava handed him back his phone.
"Alright, I'll do that. But add me to that group." Screw that guy that left a bad review.
"I can't do that since I'm simply a member but I can talk to someone." Victor told her before typing on his phone. When he was done he looked at her. "It might take a while since he might be busy."
"That's all right. I'm not in a hurry." Ava assured him.
Victor fiddled for a while before speaking out. "Miss Ava, you saw that guy that dropped that bad review, right? You can just ignore it."
Ava was taken aback that he was able to tell.
"To be honest, most of us aren't serious about the blind dates too. A lot of the others are also in relationships, we were forced to come here by our families and the remaining few... well I don't know. But if anyone says or do anything impolite they will get a piece of my mind."
Victor pushed his phone towards Ava's face. "Look, the others who met you before even scolded the guy a little. It's not really scolding but at least he didn't say anything afterwards."
[That would mean that you are equally not suited to be her husband.]
[Wow. Don't tell me you proposed to her on your first meeting?]
[What are you saying? If he did that, he would be weird. Wait, don't tell me that's what happened? I'll contact her after this.]
[Would that be a good reason to contact her? I've been wanting to thank her for her advice and get some more too.]
Ava smiled; they went a little out of the topic but it was comforting to see the good messages drowning that single bad one only in a matter of a few hours.
She knew she might have a few phone calls and messages that night. This blind date thing, was actually kind of fun. Maybe she should start charging for her advice.
