The meadow stretched out under a twilight sky, and I could feel the weight of the day pressing on us all, though we tried to keep up the facade of calm. Benjamin had been pestering us since morning, demanding that we finally take him to meet the woman his parents had arranged for him. It was supposed to be a move to unite packs, to give him stability, and, frankly, to give us peace of mind that he’d stop meddling in things that had no business concerning him.
