Chapter 31: More Suspicions

The police station smelled like ancient cigarette smoke, mold and burnt coffee. They led her into a small room with an oh-so-obvious one-way mirror, a beat up metal table and a chair barely supporting her slight weight. She was freezing, too, teeth chattering every now and then as she hugged herself for warmth. They cranked the air conditioning, to make her uncomfortable, probably. Did they not realize everyone watched cop shows these days? Knew their stupid tricks?
