Kane’s POV

Serena is already screaming when I reach the lower levels.

That tells me two things.

One—she knows why she’s here.

Two—she knows I’m not Killian.

The dungeon beneath the packhouse isn’t meant for punishment. It’s meant for truth. Thick stone walls swallow sound. Sigils etched into the floor suppress magic, strength, even courage if the fear is deep enough. The air smells like iron and cold earth and old blood that never quite washed away.
