Scarlett’s POV

“Kane!” I hiss, my voice barely above a whisper. “What if someone sees you? If Alpha Killian sees you, he will break your head!”

Before I can say another word, Kane covers my mouth with his hand, his palm warm against my skin. His golden eyes narrow slightly as he glances around the room, scanning for movement or hidden ears. The air feels thick with danger.
