I pace the edge of the training grounds, the cool night air brushing against my skin, but it does little to ease the tension tightening my chest. Kieran should be recovering faster. I’ve been keeping an eye on him—every heartbeat, every flinch, every flicker of pain in his expression. But the progress is… slow.
