The mansion was bigger than anything Elena had ever seen. The beautiful titled floors, golden walls with endless halls. Guards and maids scattered everywhere.
Her heart pounded as she fed her eyes with amazing views.
The driver led her through the vast living room, then stopped.
“Not here, ma’am,” he said stiffly, pointing upstairs. “He’s upstairs waiting.”
Elena’s legs shook as she climbed the wide staircase. She reached the double doors and pushed them open.
He was there, standing right at the window with his back to her. Looking out over the city like he owned it.
Slowly, he turned, and without a word, he walked to the bed, sat, and leaned back casually. Then he lifted a hand, signalling her closer.
Elena froze.
“Remember,” his voice was calm, sharp, “I don’t force anyone." You can use the door if you like."
Alexander Knight. CEO of Knight Enterprises. Her boss… and the last man she ever wanted to anger.
Her body trembled. Her son’s pale face flashed in her mind. His tiny voice begging her not to leave him. She took a shaky step forward. Finally, she sat stiffly at the edge of the bed. “Good.”
Alexander’s lips curved. “So you finally decided to be my mistress.”
Her throat burned. “No. Just this time. I need the money.”
His eyes darkened. “Wow , like i would like to know how you really need that made you break your pride?”
She whispered, “Two million.”
His brow arched. “For what if i may ask?”
Her chin lifted stubbornly. “None of your business.”
“So what of your husband? Because I can see you’re married.” His voice was low, mocking, eyes fixed on her ring. “Or did he leave you for another woman?”
She stiffened, lips parting, but no words came out.
He leaned in closer, tilting his head. “Or maybe…” his eyes swept across her face, pausing on the slight tremor in her lips, “…he couldn’t satisfy you?”
Her breath hitched. She turned her face away, but he caught the flicker in her eyes. A small smile tugged at his mouth.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered, tone laced with heat. “I’ll satisfy you, my dear.”
Her fists clenched, anger spilling in her words. “I don’t blame you. If not for money, would I even be here?”
“Ah.” He chuckled, pulling her closer by the wrist. “So you admit it. Money brought you here, right?
Her throat tightened. “And what about you? You play with women like me, don’t you? Another game for your ego?”
He pulled her closer still, their faces inches apart. “You’re wrong. With you… I want something more than a game.”
In one swift motion, he pulled her close, crushing his mouth against hers. His kiss was hungry, consuming, leaving her breathless. She tried to resist, but her body betrayed her.
Moments later, he pushed her back on the bed, and then she knew that there was no turning back
