“As loath as I am to inflate your ego any further, I have to admit: you cook an amazing meal, Mr. De Morrone.” I set my fork down with another sigh of contentment, the latest in an evening full of them.

He inclined his head in thanks as he collected my plate and carried the dirty dishes to the sink.

“And to think, you haven’t even tried the chocolate mousse yet.”
