Davina's POV

When I got downstairs, Diego was already loading up the vehicle.

He had changed, too, in the last few minutes. The air of unyielding confidence was gone from him. He just looked pensive and angry—more like an ocean in a storm than a mountain in the distance.

I walked my bag to the trunk.
