Davina's POV

When Diego was gone, I dropped into the window seat.

My fingers clawed into the thick fabric of the cushion, trying and failing to tether me to reality. I couldn’t quite breathe right, and no matter how hard I tried, it was becoming increasingly obvious that I’d never be able to breathe here.
