I find I’m still in bed, staring at the dark ceiling, my tears sliding down the corner of my eyes to my ears.

I turn to my side and hug my pillow in a fetus state. At least I got to feel Eryis’s face for the last time, but I didn’t get to hug her for the last time.

Oh, my baby. My sweet, sweet baby. It’s as if all this is a dream. It feels like she’s really alive when in reality she’s rotting in the morgue.

The reality of that jabs me a huge blow.
