The Basement

OPAL

I wake up to the sound of water dripping somewhere.

The first thing I feel is pain. I groan as I try to turn my head to the side and feel this incessant throbbing on the side of my head, where I was hit. Then, comes the cold. I'm lying on something hard, humid, and cold.

This alarms me enough to at least try to open my eyes. There's no light in whatever room I'm in, so I can't see my surroundings too well. I move my arms and realize that I'm not restrained or anything. I'm free to ...
