Chapter 2

“Natasha!” Alpha Lucious roared, storming through his pack house.

Doors slammed open one after the other as he searched the entire Alpha’s floor but his Luna was nowhere to be found. Her side of the bed had been cold when he woke up. He couldn't pick up her scent either and that was enough to make panic claw at his chest.

Every step of his shook with fear and fury as he quickly mindlinked his Beta.

‘Raph!”

Raphael nearly dropped the teapot in his hands.

“Goddess, Alpha! You'll scare me to death if you keep barging into my head like that!” Raph was in the kitchen preparing tea for his pregnant mate when Alpha startled him.

“Natasha’s gone.” Lucious growled, his voice almost dripping with panic.

Raphael froze, “‘What do you mean by gone?’

“I don't know Raph!” Lucious ran a hand through his hair for the hundredth time that morning. “I can't find her anywhere.”

Lucious was at the verge of losing it.

“Calm down, Alpha. I'll ask the guards to find her—.”

Lucious cut the mind–link before Raph could finish talking. Words weren't enough.

He barely aknowledged the guards greetings as went round the pack house. Young shifters were already at the training ground yet not a single one had seen Natasha.

Alpha Lucious was cursed. He wasn't destined to have a mate. He hated women but Natasha, his first love was the only exception. She managed to do what no one could, soften the ruthless Alpha. And now, she was gone.

Daryl, his beast snarled inside him.

‘She wouldn't just leave us,” His beast was restless, ‘Something is wrong.’

A cold dread coiled in Lucious’ stomach. Even he felt it.

Then as if on cue, he caught a faint whiff of lavender.

Any other wolf would have missed it.

But not Lucious.

He wasn't just any wolf.

His eyes flickered gold as he turned and followed the faint scent. He dashed into the forest, blurring past trees and trailing the only scent that kept him sane.

Lucious ran for a while before slowing down, his ears picking up a sound.

It was soft at first. Then louder.

Loud moans and grunts filled the air filling him up with dread.

“Yes… there… oh yes, faster!”

His heart stopped.

No… Impossible.

His feet turned heavy as he dragged himself into the open clearing. And when his eyes landed on the sight before him, his entire world shattered.

Lucious froze.

It felt as if someone had grabbed his heart and ripped it out of his chest.

There, tangled beneath another man was Natasha.

His Natasha.

Her eyes were closed in pleasure, urging another man to ruin her. She was too lost in the moment to even notice him. But the stranger above her did. His body went still, feeling the deadly aura radiating off Lucious.

Slowly, he lifted his head only to lock eyes with a pair of blood red ones.

“Whats wrong?” Natasha grabbed Roel by the cheeks, following his gaze, “Why did you sto—” She froze when she saw Lucious, her eyes widening to twice their size. Quickly, she shoved away and stood up, scrambling for her clothes.

“What have you done?” Lucious hissed, his voice calm.But beneath that calmness laid a storm of rage. “How. Dare. You. Betray. Me?”

Roel, the rogue Natasha was having an affair with pulled Natasha behind his back.

“My woman owes you no explanation, Alpha.” He mocked, his lips curved upwards. “

“Your woman?” Lucious’ eyes twitched slightly. His beast growled, clawing to the surface and threatening to come out and wreck havoc.

“As he said, I owe you no explanation, Lucious” Natasha stepping out from behind Roel.

“What? Do you hate me now?” She mocked, placing her hand over Roel’s chest. “I know you never really loved me.”

“Natasha—”

“You thought you could use me as your play thing and dump me once you find your so called mate?” She sneered, cutting him off, “Don't be stupid. Roel treats me like a real woman, Lucious. Something a monster like you could never do. He’s everything I could ever want.”

Roel smiled at this, pulling Natasha closer and kissing her. She grinned, staring into his eyes like he was all that mattered. When she turned to Lucious, her smile dropped.

“I, Natasha Donald of the Bloodmoon pack, reject you, Alpha Lucious thereby breaking our bond.”

At the same time, a gutwrenching pain slammed into Lucious. Natasha stumbled a little but Roel caught her.

Something snapped. The mate bond.

It was gone.

And so was Lucious’ sanity.

His eyes turned completely gold as his beast went livid.

“I will kill you,” Daryl growled, taking control of their mind, “I will rip you both to shreds!” His legs started to elongate fur covering skin and nails turning to claws. His body and hands stretched and in less than a second, a massive beast stood on its hind legs.

Natasha and Roel almost shrank.

Lucious’ beast was a terrifying sight to behold. But Roel didn't have time to quiver in fear because the Alpha was already running towards him at an alarming speed. He lunged forward, shifting into his grey wolf which was much smaller than the lycan beast.

Fear trickled down Natasha’s spine watching her lover being mercilessy mishandled by Lucious.

Of course, Roel was no match for Lucious and the both knew it. Roel had minlinked her earlier, asking her to distract Lucious while he called for reinforcements. She secretly prayed for them to get there or time, else she and Roel were done for.

Alpha Lucious wasn't just an Alpha.

He was the Supreme Alpha, a man whose name was whispered across the werewolf lands. He was the most ruthless Alpha beast alive, and Natasha wasn't prepared to be at the receiving end of his fury. Her knees trembled furiously watching the Alpha pin Roel’s down effortlessly.

That's it.

Everything was over.

The Alpha’s razor sharp claws went in the air, before aiming right for Roel’s face. But just before he could deliver the blow, two brown wolves pounced on him. He got distracted for a second as he tried to get his attackers off, and Roel took that opportunity to limp away.

Natasha sighed in relief.

More and more rogue wolves bounced into the clearing.

The Alpha beast snarled as dozens of wolves surrounded him.The first wolf lunged at him.

Big mistake.

The Alpha caught his throat and tore, blood spraying across the ground as he separated head from body. The rest of the wolves froze for a second before charging together.

The sound of bones snapping and throat being ripped filled the air. The Alpha beast wrecked havoc on the smaller wolves with ease.

Roel knew his men were no match for Lucious. The Alpha was killing the wolves like they meant nothing. Worse, since they were still in the Alpha’s territory, his Beta may soon find out the situation here and they would be in some serious trouble.

Roel quietly sneaked behind the Alpha and attacked. He leapt in the air and landed on the Alpha’s back, his sharp jaws clamping down on the beast’s neck. He succeeded in sinking his fangs into fur, causing an angry growl to reverberate through the clearing. He deepened his bite as more rogue attacked and they were finally able to bring the beast to its knees.

Lucious was slowly losing strength. His beast howled in pain and frustration, unable to get the threat off their neck. His beast started to retreat as they lost too much blood forcing him to shift back into his human form.

One by one, the rogues ran away. The Alpha might be injured, but they couldn’t take chances with the crazy man.

Natasha and Roel were the last to leave.

Natasha looked at Lucious one last time

“Ciao, monster. I hope you die and we never meet again.” She laughed, shifted into her wolf form and dashed off with Roel.

“That woman will regret betraying me.” Lucious swore.

She left him for a rogue. A fucking rogue!

“Rogue right? I will kill every rogue I find.” Hatred burned through his veins as he moved to go after them.

But then it came.

An ear splitting roar that shook the entire forest.

Lucious didn't realize the roar came from him till he shifted. The fastest he had ever shifted in his life.

And in the next second, he was sprinting towards another direction.

Something was calling him.

Something that was about to flip his entire world upside down.
