I spun around sharply, my heart thudding as a loud crack split through the wall. My eyes locked on the jagged line creeping across the surface like it's about to fall.

“Get out everyone!” I shouted, my voice straining over the noise.

By some miracle, they heard me immediately. The chaos stilled just enough for gasps to fill the air as they turned toward the cracking wall.

“What’s that?” a woman screamed, her finger shaking as she pointed straight at it.
