When I first heard that Maxine had passed out, I thought it was just another instance of her overreacting or maybe, she was just being lazy and avoiding training. But as days went by and she didn't return, a gnawing worry began to settle in my chest. Despite the act I maintained, I wasn't as heartless as everyone believed.
