Something is wrong.

I don’t know how I know it, but the feeling has been sitting in my chest since we woke up this morning. It’s the kind of feeling you can’t shake off, no matter how hard you try to ignore it. Elena is still asleep beside me, her breathing slow and steady, her hand resting lightly on my chest as if she belongs there—and she does. Everything about this moment should feel perfect.
