Chapter Two: Sold to the Cruel Lycan King

“Huh…?” Dawn couldn’t keep herself from speaking out her thoughts this time, her silver eyes were wide with surprise and terror. She’s heard plenty of rumors about the cruel Lycan King and his vicious pack, the Crimson Moon. The Lycan King was all about making his pack the strongest pack within the Land of Raia. Because of this, he’s arrogant and shows no mercy to wolves outside of his pack. Everybody within the Crimson Moon had a reddish shade of hair/fur. For a white-haired wolf to be forced into their pack only spelled certain hell for her. Not to mention if the Lycan King is buying her, then her life will become even worse than the abusive torment she receives from Jessica.

“Don’t hug me, omega.” The Alpha King addresses his daughter as the omega of the pack without ever saying her real name, let alone calling her his daughter. “He’ll be here shortly to pick you up. You are to be his slave and obey his every order, understand? No matter what he wants you to do, your only reason to live is to serve him.”

“My King, I…” Dawn can’t find the words she wants to say and in the end, she just closes her mouth. Nothing she could say would help her now, it would only make her situation even worse. She has gone from the Frost Howlers’s maid to the Lycan King’s slave. But why…? Why all of a sudden?

The Alpha King, Adam, can see the confused thoughts going through his daughter’s brain so he speaks to her again. “Not only are you to be his slave, but you’re also a gift to the Crimson Moon to ensure an alliance between the Frost Howlers and Crimson Moon packs. To give them a pretty she-wolf with white hair that proves her royal bloodline, let alone the daughter of the Alpha King would be the perfect gift for the Lycan King. Now, he will be arriving in the evening. He did not say the time, so just be here before the sky shades amber.”

This time Dawn’s silver eyes widened with a different kind of shock. This was the first time in her whole life that her father had ever referred to her as his daughter, let alone called her pretty. It may all be for the wrong reasons, just to make her sound more desirable to be the Lycan King’s slave, but still. It moved her. Adam knew this and he purposely avoided eye contact with her.

“As you know, the Lycan King is a very dominant man. So sending him an omega would also be best. Someone he can walk all over and have to do whatever he wants with a snap of his fingers would be perfect. Now, fix yourself up. You’re as filthy as ever.” Adam finally says.

“Yes, My King…” Dawn whispers as she bows and turns to leave but before she can step foot out of her father’s office, she hears him call to her one last time.

“Omega.” Dawn stops in her tracks but doesn’t turn around to face him. He had noticed her black and busted lip that still looked bloodied. “...Are you alright?” He asks with hesitance but then he quickly adds in more words to make it seem like he didn’t care about his daughter’s well-being. “If the Lycan King’s slave is already beaten and broken, he may lose interest in you and I can’t have that. It’ll jeopardize our alliance if he won’t accept a broken gift.”

Dawn was silent for a couple of seconds before speaking quietly. “I’m fine, My King.”

As Dawn continued to walk out of her father’s office, she didn’t see the faintest hint of worry in Adam’s eyes since she didn’t look back at him.

Dawn immediately went to her bedroom and took a shower to wash up in preparation for meeting the fearsome Lycan King. She had no soap so all she could hope for was that the hot water would rinse away all the stink and dirt off of her white hair and pale skin. Her lifeless silver eyes were finally starting to show emotion. Fear. Her knees trembled. She’d instead put up with her revolting cousin’s hazing instead of meeting a Lycan who has been known for his ruthlessness.

As soon as she was done showering and dried herself off, Dawn’s wardrobe was very limited and all of them were rags so she had no choice but to choose the ones that were the least stained and ripped. As the Alpha King ordered, Dawn returned to Adam’s office before the sky began to darken. But unfortunately, it seemed that the Crimson Moon wolves had already shown up. As soon as she walked into the office, her father looked at her furiously for being late despite the fact the sky was still purely blue.

Dawn’s knees shook and her heart pounded, it wasn’t often that she was filled with so much anxiety that she felt like she was going to be sick. The three strangers all had a reddish shade of hair that awed the white-haired female, she had never seen hair so dark, let alone something that reminded her of the setting sun. As the three turned to face her, it was the man in the middle that caught her attention the most.

A tall man with dark ginger hair and icy green eyes. Beneath his clothes, she could tell that he was broad-shouldered and muscular. No doubt, the feeling of pressure in the air coming off of him in waves announced his own, stronger type of royal blood. The Lycan King. Dawn was hypnotized by his handsome face and didn’t snap out of it until one of the Lycan King’s followers spoke to Adam.

“Is this her?” The follower asks.

Before Adam can even speak, the Lycan King’s voice grabs everyone’s attention. “Oh, it’s her alright.”

His slow steps towards her make Dawn instinctively take a step backward. The omega had always felt smaller around wolves more stronger than her but his presence was overwhelming. Before Dawn could get any farther from him, he reached out to her with a swift hand and grabbed a hold of her face, his fingers tightly squeezing her cheeks as he rubbed his thumb slowly across her bottom lip. His lip curls with disgust when he sees the raw cut on hers and he lets his thumb purposely put pressure on it, making her flinch from the pain. “She smells like shit.” Lycan King’s growl expresses his disgust when looking at the cut on Dawn’s lip. He then uses that same thumb to swiftly force open up Dawn’s mouth, making her give a quiet yelp. He glances at the inside of her mouth briefly before letting go of her face. “But she’ll do it.”

Dawn rubs her sore jaw after it was jerked open so roughly by his thumb. She felt a little unsettled by the way he inspected her and looked inside her mouth but, as usual, she kept her thoughts to herself.

The Lycan King then turned to one of his followers. “Beta.”

His single word makes him quickly step forward. Dawn didn’t notice what he had in his hand until she felt a leash go around her neck and instantly tighten to the point it was a struggle to breathe. As soon as his beta had a leash around her neck, the Lycan King then turned to her father.

“Happy doing business with you.” He says as he looks at Adam in the corner of his eye with a faint smirk. “I’ll be in touch.”

As the three men from the Crimson Moon take Down away by a leash, she glances back at her alpha one last time. Her heart clutches when she sees a worried look on her father’s face. And then, he looks away, and Dawn feels genuinely defeated.

Once the four leave the Frost Howlers’s estate, the Lycan King turns to the white-haired woman he had just bought and grabs her face once again, this time more tightly than before. This takes Dawn by surprise and she stumbles towards him because of the sudden force. Unlike in front of her father, his voice becomes more profound and his eyes darken. “Keep this in mind, omega, I may not have paid a pretty penny to get my hands on you but you still belong to me. My word is law, break it, and I’ll break you then discard you like trash without telling your daddy. Got it?”

Dawn flinches from his ruthless words. He was worse than Jessica. His presence struck fear into her body. But despite what her primal instincts scream at her, each time she looks at his handsome face, she feels her heart palpitate for a second reason that she keeps unspoken as she responds to him. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
