Lola's POV

The door swung open.

Flint walked in carrying a tray with coffee cups. He stopped when he saw how close Morgan and I were sitting.

Morgan didn't move away. He stayed right where he was, shoulder pressed against mine.

Flint's eyes narrowed. "What's going on here?"

I jumped up from the sofa. "Nothing. We were just talking."

"Talking." Flint set the tray down hard. Coffee sloshed over the edges of the cups. "Yeah," I said quickly. "About school stuff."
