Lola’s POV

Saturday came faster than I expected. Evelyn showed up at my place right after breakfast, her excitement written all over her face.

“Come on,” she said, tugging at my arm. “We have a lot to do.”

I let her pull me along, even though my chest still felt heavy from everything that had happened in the past week.

We went shopping first. Evelyn tried on half the dresses in the store, spinning in front of the mirror each time.

I stayed quiet, slipping into one dress after another ...
