Lola's POV

I stared at Cara. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. The woman in Morgan's heart. Who was she talking about?

Cara's smile softened. She looked almost embarrassed.

"Actually," she said. "I need to apologise. There's been a misunderstanding between us."

I blinked. I didn't understand.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Cara glanced at Morgan. He was watching us with those cold, empty eyes. Then she looked back at me.

"I've been acting like there's some kind of rivalry ...
