Lola's POV

The house was loud. People were everywhere. Pack members filled the living room. Some cried. Some whispered.

I stood in the doorway. My mom sat on the couch. Her face was wet. "Mom," I said. "What happened? Tell me everything."

She looked up. Her eyes were red. "There was an attack. At the council meeting. Someone stabbed your father."

My stomach dropped. "Who did it?"
