"You're mine, Lola," Flint said again. His wolf's voice mixed with his human one. "You'll always be mine. I don't accept this. I refuse."

"You don't get to refuse," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "It's not your choice."

"It is my choice." His claws dug deeper into my arm. "You belong to me. I won't let you go."

"Flint, let me go. You're hurting me."

He looked down at his hand. His claws pressed against my skin. For a moment, something human flickered in his black eyes.
