Flint’s eyes narrowed at me, the weight of his stare enough to pin me in place. The jacket around my shoulders felt heavier under his gaze, like it was proof of something I couldn’t explain away. 

I folded my arms across my chest, trying to shield myself from the discomfort building inside me.
