The emergency room doors slammed shut in my face. "Sir, you need to wait out here," the nurse said. Her hand on my chest.

"That's my girlfriend in there."

"I understand. But you can't go in during treatment."

"How long?"

"As long as it takes. Please, sit down."

She disappeared through the doors. Left me standing there. I looked down at my hands. Covered in blood. Lola's blood. From her arm. From her face. From everywhere, Amy had hurt her.
