VICTORIA

Ohh, but that lady was not done, as she looked at me, her eyes blazing with fury.

"You are just a pathetic little thing who thinks she can snatch my man from me." She spat.

Tears of confusion had started to well up in my eyes. I made to plunge at her but Samson held me back.

The room had already erupted into more chaos but the doors opened and Samson's security barged into the hall.

Their faces were serious amidst the commotion as they rushed towards Gladys. As soon as Gladys saw that they were coming from her, she turned to run to the other side of the hall.

Just as she made the swift turn, her heel shoes broke sending her to the ground with a loud thud.

"Fucking hell," She cursed under her breathe.

The hefty men swiftly grabbed hold of her, as stubborn as she was, she began to struggle to break free from their grasp.

But one of the men quickly swept her off her feet and as they got to the entrance of the hall, he pushed her out into the open and shut the doors.

The guests exchanged looks of shock and embarrassment, unsure of what next was going to happen. Samson looked at me nervously, he seemed to be apologising with his eyes as he grabbed hold of my right hand very tightly.

"Let's go home," He whispered before leading me through the aisle and out of the hall.

This was the first time I was entering Samson's mansion or rather, my husband. The estate which had the mansion was massive. In the middle of the field, stood the mansion where Samson resided.

It was breathtaking and shimmered with stones just like a gold palace. It's exterior walls were built with a combination of marble, limestone and 24- karat gold.

I stepped into the living room and it was a sight to behold. Everywhere was gold themed, the cushions, the television stand, the center table and what have you. It was indeed a mansion of opulence.

Samson came up behind me and placed his hands on my waist while guiding me to the couch.

"Welcome home," He said, giving me a friendly little smile.

"Will you like a drink?" He added but I shook my head. I wasn't in any mood for merriments, not after the embarrassment I faced.

As though he read my mind, Samson pulled me close to him in a tight embrace.

"I am sorry about what happened there." He said while caressing my back.

"Who was that lady? I have never been this publicly humiliated in my life before." I stated with a shaky voice.

"Gladys is my ex-girlfriend but I assure you that you are going to be protected and she isn't going to harm you. All that happened today at the little wedding ceremony was just a bluff. Cheer up and come along, let us meet the servants." He said as he tried to cheer me up.

"If you say so." I replied, my voice now void of emotions.

"Really?" He asked, sounding puzzled.

One by one, the servants trooped in. Firstly, the chief servant, John introduced himself.

"Welcome to our home." He said, his voice quite smooth but his eyes held a serious gaze.

I nodded.

I couldn't help but notice maids, gardeners, nannies and stewards all running around attending to their various duties.

Everyone worked according to a scheduled plan and they were very orderly and organised about it.

"Hello Mrs Young, I am Sofia and I am happy to introduce myself to you as your personal maid. Specially trained by the expert hands of the chief maid. Welcome home." A young lady in her twenties announced it to me. Her voice held a sweet and melodious tone, she appeared to be a very jovial person.

"Nice to meet you, Sofia." I said, my smile flickering across myself like a hologram.

"I will show you your room now, ma'am." She offered, still flashing a welcoming smile.

"Uhmm, Victoria, could you come over here? I would like to introduce you to my best friend." Samson's voice came up behind me just as I was about to climb the stairs to my room.

Whoever I saw when I spinned around to face my husband was the least of my expectations. I never expected it was the man who had flashed me with a sinister smile at the wedding venue.

"Nice to meet you, Victoria. You look so ravishing." He said and picking up both of my hands, he placed a kiss on them.

Funny enough, a sly glint danced in his eyes as he squeezed my hands a little. Instantly, I pulled away from his grip, as I felt uncomfortable shivers run down my spine.

"Okay, you can go up to inspect your room now. If you find that it's not to your tastes, don't hesitate to call the attention of the maids." Samson said, dismissing me coldly.

"And wait, dinner will be served in an hour. Marcus would be having dinner with us as well." He added.

"Fucking bastard," I spat out inaudibly. That man looked evil, why would someone like Samson have a person like him around him?

I dismissed my thoughts quickly, chastising myself for judging someone I had just met for the first time. "He might just be fooling around and might just be a nice person." I told myself.

Sofia opened the door of my room and I was met with the largest bedroom I had ever set my eyes on or been in. I started to wish that Ace was here with me, the walls were rudely slapped with gold patterns, the rug on the ground was feathery and really soft. The cream coloured carpet was welcoming.

Sofia was already unpacking my luggage and arranging my clothes into my closet even though the closet already contained magnificent dresses and clothes meant for me.

"Welcome to your room, ma'am, I hope everything suits you well, you are just going to love this place and I am ready to be at your service at any time of the day." She said, her mouth running like a loose tap but she still concentrated on getting my things arranged.

I nodded, still taking in the beauty of my room. My eyes caught the large balcony sitting pretty and facing the magnificent blue sky.

As I made my way to the balcony, "Be careful, ma'am!" Sofia exclaimed. But it was too late as something sprang from 'Who knows where' and unto me, its presence was so sudden and unsettling.
