Dominic’s POV

Hours passed before I realized I was still sitting outside her room. The faint light under the door flickered as her father moved around inside. I’d already asked twice if I could see her and he’d refused both times. But when midnight came and I knocked again, he finally opened the door.

He looked exhausted, eyes rimmed red. “You won’t rest until you’ve seen her, will you?”
