“I’ll be right back!” I called over my shoulder, already halfway out the door.

My shoes slapped the pavement as I ran. I nearly collided with a young woman just turning the corner. “Sorry!” I gasped, brushing past her.

“Where are you headed in such a rush?” she called after me.
