Percy’s POV

I did not tell Rue I was leaving. She was actually asleep when I did so. Beta Nate stood just outside her door.

“Take full care of her,” I said quietly. “Make sure nothing happens to her while I’m away..”

“Yes, Alpha.”

I turned to Gamma next. He met my gaze, already sensing that something was being withheld.

“You stay,” I instructed. “If anyone asks where I am, you don’t know.”

Gamma frowned. “Not even me?”

“Especially not you.”
