Haven’s POV

I interrupted them just as Vance was about to speak. Aiden didn’t look at all impressed that I had come.

“Aiden,” I said quickly, stepping between them. “There’s been an incident.”

Both of them turned toward me. Aiden’s eyes were already hollow from grief and sleeplessness. Vance looked annoyed, his satisfaction interrupted mid-breath.
