Zerina noticed the shift in him. She knew he was not joking when he spoke of punishment earlier. She had seen it in his eyes — felt it in her bones.

Perhaps she had gone too far. She admitted and no matter how she tried to justify it, Lysander was right. What she had done earlier had been reckless. One misstep and she could have fallen. The thought made her shiver.
