I watched with wary eyes as Sasha approached, all nerve endings in me standing taut and brutally at alert.

She had a smile on but I could taste the venom without having to kiss her. And kiss her I wouldn't do, no matter how hard she tried to portray the character of a welcoming mistress to the rest of the family.

She plopped down on the lounge chair beside me and I sighed, hating that she was so close after all I did to ignore their existence earlier.
