"What?" Emily asked, staring at me. "I didn't hear what you said."

"I didn't say anything." I lied.

"I thought I heard you mumble something."

"I didn't."

She shrugged, not interested in arguing with me. "So what is it? You've had your first kiss with Damon or you are still working toward it?"

I cleared my throat, feeling uncomfortable. "I need to use the restroom."
