I opened my eyes and hissed at the bright light that hurt me at first. It would take me a while to get used to the light. The bed I lay on was so soft… Wait a minute, bed? I began to panic. I wasn’t supposed to be on a bed I was supposed to be in the woods. I tried to crack my brain to remember what had happened or how I had gotten here but everything was blank. “Val?” I called out to my wolf but there was no reply. I was about to cry.
