Chapter 5: Taming The Bad Boy
ELODIE
I ran back with Jack to the arena hall and found everyone gathered.
“They're all waiting for the headmistress.” Jack said, tightly his grip on my hand like he could read my mind.
“Welcome, new students.” A tall woman with silver hair, pale eyes stepped forward, her heels clicked against the polished floor, and the moment she appeared, everyone went silent immediately and turned to her.
She was beautiful but looked really mean. She seemed like one who would mock and laugh at you if you tripped.
“I'm headmistress Maddie. You've been chosen to train at the most powerful werewolf academy in the world. Some of you are here because of your bloodline. Others…..” her eyes landed directly at me, “ for some reasons we're still discovering.”
A few students chuckled at the last words she uttered and immediately, I felt a heat rise in my chest.
“Your first test begins now.” She declared, her eyes glancing at everyone.
Her words made my heart skip, and my heart beat with fear.
What?
Around me, some students smiled like this was the best news ever. While for me,it wasn't. It was a nightmare
I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready for the training. And worst of all, it's combat. I knew it was a mistake coming here. I didn't even know how to shift yet.
“You can do this!” Jack whispered when he saw the fear in my eyes. My body was trembling a little.
Students began spreading out, forming lines. The Instructors in gray uniforms appeared, calling names one by one and pairing people up.
A wave of dread watched over me as my eyes scanned everyone's expressions. They all seem so excited about this combat except for me. I wasn't ready for this. I didn't even know how to shift yet. What was I supposed to do?
“Let me help you,” a fainted voice whispered, making me flinch as I turned back to see where it came from, but no one seemed to be talking to me. Not even Jack who was staring at me with confusion.
Did that voice just come inside of me? How? I have not even shifted yet. So how can my wolf speak to me?
“Quinn Elodie,” my name was called with one other girl who stepped into the mat I was, looking at her, she seemed conceited and bossy. She was a very tall girl with a smirk on her face. She cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulders like she was ready to crush me down.
I can't believe it's my turn. Luckily, Randy was nowhere to be seen here. I wouldn't be able to withstand it if he watches me fail.
In his eyes, I'm already a failure because I'm weak, and also his mate. I don't want to give him another reason to see me as a weakling.
“Omega,” she said, her smirked dripping with mockery. “This will be fun.” Laughter ripped through the crowd as I ducked my head down, feeling the heat of shame surging through me as everyone turned to look at me like I was some interesting show to watch.
They were also laughing, which made the shame increase to another rotation.
Slowly, I looked over and saw Cassie and her crew, she was sneering at me.
“ How could a weakling like her compete with her?” Cassie's voice rasped in, sending waves of anger down my body, and once again, everyone burst into laughter. Including the instructor.
He also laughed but when he saw that I was staring at him, he stopped.
“Begin,” the instructor shouted, making my heart jump even more. Before I could get to action, the girl lunged at me fast, but fortunately, I dodged to the side, barely missing her punch.
She swung again with so much agility but I blocked it, badly, waves of pain shot through my arm.
Ohh moon goddess, are you really going to make me a laughing stock? The topics of today's class?
I can't afford to lose. I need to prove everyone wrong. I need to let them know I can be more than they expected.
“Now,” the voice in my whispered again, the voice so low and faintly.
“Don't think. Let go.”
the voice inflicted something inside of me. Confidence and boldness. Suddenly, something took over
My legs moved before I could tell them to. I wasn't in control of my body anymore. I ducked, twisted, and slammed my palm into the girl's chest. She flew backwards, and crashed into the ground instantly, making me the winner.
I caught my breath as I glared around. The entire hall was silent. They were all stunned. Some of their eyes were widened, while some, their hands flew to their mouth in disbelief. Others were just gasping in surprise, trying to comprehend what just happened.
Even I was the most perplexed one. Pondering how I did that. Then my eyes caught the instructor's own, his mouth was slightly opened, then closed within a seconds, the moment he got himself back.
“Winner, Elodie Quinn.”
Gasps followed, whispers and murmuring of their voices. I could feel them all staring at me.
And then, my eyes landed on him. Randy. He was there the whole time, seated at the corner with the boys standing in front of him.
Fuck! He witnessed it all. But I'm really glad I didn't mess up. At least now, he had seen I wasn't as weak as he thought I was, and he completely underestimated me
“Congratulations Elodie.” Jack uttered and spread his arms wide for me, which I embrace without a second thought. He spun me around and laughed. A real surprise laugh that I hadn't felt in a long time.
I needed to make everyone mad. Including randy whose gaze was rotating on me.
After some seconds, Jack pulled me down and held my two hands.
“I knew you could do it. You're stronger than you think.” my cheeks feel hot the moment his words rolled in my ears. I'm just so happy right now. I'm overwhelmed with happiness that I feel like doing something crazy.
Tilting my head in his direction, I found him staring at me again , but this time more tense and intensively.
“I like you Jack. And I need your d**k in my mouth! What do you say about that?” I rasped out the words at him, like a girl who was confessing her feelings to a guy.
The stunned expression on Randy's face made my heart flutter with joy.
I leaned closer to Jack and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. I don't even need him to say any words because he looks too dumbfounded and dead to even utter a word.
Ignoring the whispering and murmuring from the crowd, I shot Randy a smile one last time before dragging Jack and walking away
Let Randy watch.
I need him to feel the pain he implemented in me. The pain of rejection.
