Madeline
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a room. Filled with weird flowers. It was all over the room. Like walls were covered with flowers. Where was I? I took the blanket off of me. It was rose red coloured. So fluffy. Like a baby toy made out of cotton. It looked like I was in a kid’s room. Or it can be a girl’s room. From all of the rose red stuff.
Oh! Look at those red tulips. They are so beautiful. They were all over the room. I smiled. It looked like a dream. Like a room of a royal. Everything I like was in here. Red was my favourite colour. I love everything that was red. Not the blood though. That was disgusting to me. When I saw fresh blood for the first time, that was when my mother cut her finger while chopping veggies. I almost fainted then. I was five years old then.
This is your room. You are in Fray Lin Sallie.
“I am where? Is this not a dream? You? Are you the ocean?” I said out loud.
Yes I am the ocean. We have met if you’d recall. Welcome to Fray Lin Sallie, my grace.
“My um what?” I asked.
Your grace, this is your territory. You are the heir of this house. The only child who has returned of Vale.
“Who is Vale?” I asked. I was still sat on the bed.
Vale was the Duke of Fray Lin Sallie. Your mother was the first daughter of him. Until, she left these lands.
“The what lands?” I asked. My head started spinning. I had no idea as to who they were talking about or was I still dreaming. Was I though?
Vale, your grandfather. Royanne your grandmother. They both put a spell on your mother. Never letting her enter these lands. Telling her, if her child ever came near ocean. I’ll be the one to bring you back to your rightful place. For you to take this place and be put on the grace’s position.
“A what? I am a what and what are you talking about? None of it is making any sense to me.” I said trying to sleep again and hope that this dream ended soon.
This is no dream, Madeline.
“Oh! How can you be trusted? I trusted you and gave you my hand and you brought me here. You are a traitor.” I said almost yelling. I have no idea from where I got the energy to get out of the bed and make my way towards the door. If she is not going to help me then I’ll help myself. I will find a way back to home. One way or another.
When I opened the door. The whiteness of the place hit me. My head started spinning and I almost lost consciousness when someone took a hold of me. “Thank you, again.” I said thinking that it was her who helped me but when I opened my eyes I saw a man standing and holding me in place. His golden eyes were very enchanting.
“Again? Oh! I am willing to help you over and over again.” He said and smirked. Jerk. Idiot. I took my arm out of his hand and said, “thank you.” With that I made my way towards the hallway. “If you are making your way towards the wedding hall then it is the other way.” He said and gestured for me to accompany him.
I did, but I made sure that we had some decent distance between us. “What is your name?” “What is your name?” We both asked at the same time. I smiled politely. “Madeline.” “Jeremy. Duke of Sang Elle.” He said looking very proud himself. He was so much of himself. Too proud and too perfect. Nobody is perfect then how come he is portraying to be?
“Are you a sister of Janelle?” He asked me. “Who? I don’t who she is.” I said and shrugged. “She is the bride. She is getting married to Duke of Gray Camden.” Oh god! Everything they were saying is going over my head. “I don’t know what you are talking about. I am not from this land and all. I just.”
“Madeline?” Someone called my name and I looked back. To find a lady almost of the age of my mom looking right back at me. Her hair was raven like her. The resemblance was remarkable.
“Yes?” I said, she was someone I have never seen in my entire life. “Come with me. I have something to show you.” She gestured for me to follow her to a closed room nearby. I looked back at Jeremy. He nodded and said, “Hopefully, we’ll meet again.” With that he left and I made my way to that room in which that lady was now standing.
