Shock filled me as I clenched my fists together at my sides trying to keep myself from trembling.

My face creased in fake confusion as I watched her.

“What do you mean, Jennifer?

The old man doesn’t need to tell me directly before I get him water.

As you know already, he can’t speak.

So how can he possibly express what he needs,” I said, faking a sigh in exasperation.

“Water is a necessity.

I thought he must be thirsty so I came here to get him one,” I said.
