“Raine!”

Killian’s voice tore after me as the cavern collapsed, but the darkness swallowed everything. The air whipped past me, cold and endless. My claws scrabbled at stone, catching nothing.

And then impact.

My body slammed into jagged rock, pain flashing white-hot but I didn’t break. My wolf wouldn’t let me. I rolled, hit the ground hard, stone cracking beneath me, air punched from my lungs.

Silence.

Except for the growl.
