‘I can't stand Nicolle anymore.’ The thought hit me like a punch to the gut as I made my way towards the parking lot.

Before, she was my whole world, the one person who understood the darkness in me, and who matched it with her own fire but right now, I just couldn't stand her. The mere sight of her sent irritation spiraling through my bones, like a crawling sensation that made my skin itch and my fists clench but I didn't know why or when that had started.
