Last night, I pushed Damien away and he would’ve definitely noticed. He might have been manipulative, insecure, controlling, selfish, and a liar, but he wasn’t dumb. If anything, he was frighteningly perceptive when it came to things that threatened him.

I just didn’t know how long I could put up with any of them, pretend that I was fine, or smile like nothing was wrong when I was barely holding myself together, and the seams were cracking more each day.
