Freya's pov

The silence after I ask why they're willing to give up everything stretches on for so long that I start to think nobody is going to answer and then Sebastian takes a deep breath like he's preparing to say something important.

"Because we think you might be our mate," Sebastian says and the words make my stomach drop because I've known this for weeks but hearing them say it out loud makes everything more real and more complicated.

"What?" I ask because I need to hear them explain ...
