Freya's pov

The gunshot echoes across the compound and Marcus drops to the ground and doesn't move and for a long moment everything goes completely silent as everyone processes what just happened.

Thomas lowers the gun and looks at me and says "are you hurt" and I shake my head even though my throat aches where Marcus was choking me.

"Sebastian," I gasp and stumble toward where he's lying on the ground bleeding from cuts on his chest and arms.
