I wake up before Freya does and the first thing I do is check that she's still breathing because my wolf won't settle until I confirm our mate is safe and the second thing I do is carefully extract myself from the bed without waking her or Logan or Zane.

The council meeting is in four hours and I need coffee and a plan before we walk into what is probably going to be the most important negotiation of our lives.
