The SUV’s headlights cut out two blocks from the facility. They drove the last stretch in total darkness, guided only by Ryan’s thermal scope and Malik’s unerring hands on the wheel. Malik parked between two abandoned cargo containers, the building in the near distance, a shadowy cube of concrete and steel, indifferent and ominous under the low fog.
