Chapter 46: Epilogue

Lyla

"Alright now love bug, mommy needs you to be nice and still for me okay?"

"Mommy, I have to go potty."

"Oh honey, I asked you before we put you in your dress if you had to go, you said no."

"I know." Adrianna says as she begins doing her potty dance that always has Shane busting at the seams with laughter. "But, I do now. Can't granny take me?"

I stand up, adjusting my dress, then look down at my daughter. It's Christmas eve, and as amazing as this day has been, it's been equal parts hectic. Today marks project 'just get down the aisle already'.

After everything happened a few months ago with Adrianna's kidnapping, so much has happened. Candice wanted to postpone the wedding, but Shawna and I pulled her to the side and told her that she needed to just have the wedding she wanted and be done with it.

So here we are, on Christmas eve, locked in Shane's old room at the clubhouse, getting dressed. Candy and Austin agreed to have it at the clubhouse, have a simple wedding like they both wanted, then have the honeymoon their mothers planned. It was a win-win.

A knock at the door interrupts us, and Adrianna runs over in a hurry to answer it. My mother and Lisa stand on the other side and when Adrianna sees her grandmother, she jumps up and begins chatting her ear off.

"Granny, my dress is really pretty huh?"

"Sure is love bug. Are you doing your potty wiggle?"

"Yes. I have to go sooooo badly." We all chuckle then watch as my mother takes Adrianna to the restroom.

Mom came around shortly after our ordeal. I was extremely hesitant with her, giving her attitude and arguments every turn she made. It wasn't until Shane pulled me aside and told me that her circumstances were much like mine. Mom was in love with a man she thought she knew. She wanted my father to be happy and that turned her into a cold and sterile woman and mother. After finding out about Adrianna's kidnapping my mom left my father, moved here to New York and began living a life she wanted to proud of. It took a while, and some major therapy, but Lisa and I eventually forgave her for her past and were able to move on.

"Here, let me help you with your zipper." Lisa walks in and fixes my zipper then places my diamond necklace that Candice bought all of us in the wedding party, over my neck."

"Thanks sis. So, how are you and mom doing living together?"

"It's getting better. We still have our moments. I think sometimes she still thinks I'm a baby, but it is pretty nice to have her back." I nod my head in agreement.

Adrianna and I officially moved out two weeks ago. Shane fixed up his home and even painted Adrianna's room a bright pink they she had found in the paint store with him. Apparently, it needed to match her new barbie convertible Max and Austin bought her for her birthday. We wound up having her birthday party after all and was pleasantly surprised by just how many people came and celebrated. Even Snake made an appearance, handing the birthday girl three tickets to Disneyworld. We leave the day after Christmas.

"Alright, you better go out there and take your place, ceremony should be starting soon."

"Shit, you're right. I'll be right out there if you need anything and if Adrianna starts getting nervous just." Lisa cuts me off before I could do my mom speech as she calls it.

"Relax sis, Adrianna is too excited to be a flower girl to mess anything up. Were you not here during the rehearsal last night?" I giggle remembering how my daughter practically stole the show, then head up front.

The whole clubhouse was transformed into a winter wonderland. Candy was always a Christmas freak but looking around the place as I head out the back where the ceremony will be held, class and elegance is all I see. There are white and blue twinkles of spark and d¨¦cor that works perfectly with the winter wonderland theme Candy chose.

Walking outside, I come face to face with the beauty of three hot bikers dressed in tuxes. Shane, Max, and Chance stand over on the other side of the yard as they drink a beer and shoot the shit. It took a bit of persuasion, but Candice managed to talk the guys into wearing their suits, with the understanding that were tearing them off as soon as the ceremony was over. I shake my head, trying not to look like a horny teen and focus my attention on everyone here.

Candice and Austin's mothers are here sitting in the first row followed by Candice's step brother, Jared, and his wife Laynie. I also see Candice's new step father, whom will be walking her down the aisle in just a few minutes. It's an amazing time in her life and I couldn't be happier for her. I look down at the new wedding band on my ring finger. Shane and I took Adrianna last month and eloped. He didn't think I was serious when I suggested it, but after he had brought home the adoption papers for Adrianna, I knew he was what I wanted. I didn't need a big ceremony, I just needed him and my daughter. It was perfect.

"Lookin' mighty hard there darlin'. Havin' second thoughts?" I lean back against Shane's hold and place my hands on his arms crossed at my waist.

"Never. Just starring at the beautiful ring that I plan on wearing every day of my life."

"Glad it fits you babe."

Shane had asked his mother for the ring his father gave her over thirty-two years ago. I was excited and giddy with him wanting to continue the legacy his father left behind and turning it into something positive.

"How's our girl?" He asks kissing my neck.

"She's good, hanging out with mom and Lisa."

I was pleasantly surprised when Shane had told me that Rory wouldn't be having anymore visitation rights. I was even more content with the fact that Rory had dropped the claim and was living back home in Texas. Apparently, he even took himself out of the running for mayor. I didn't want Shane to tell me about how he persuaded him, I had a pretty good idea anyways, but to me, it was enough to know Adrianna wouldn't have to worry about him. Shane was filling in that role anyways.

I was also pleasantly surprised when Shane came out and told me about his ex-wife showing up randomly. He had Torque pull up some info on her and turns out, she had a grandparent that passed and left her some money. Problem is, the will was made out to her in her married name. It was something that they could fix, but it would be much faster if Shane and her rekindled. Shane threatened her within an inch of her life and we haven't heard from her since.

"Have you guys heard any news about Alberts?" I ask in a whisper. I don't want Candice's wedding ruined with negative talk, but Alberts went off the face of the Earth after everything went down. Even his wife and kids have no idea where he is.

"Nothin'. Still missing. Can't be good. Have a feelin' he's planning somethin' big." Dread settles in my stomach but it quickly disperses when the wedding coordinator announces that we take our places.

Shane

Dancing with Adrianna in my arms is the most amazing feeling in the world, and when I look over to the side and notice Lyla taking her usual thousand pictures on her phone, it only gets better.

I'm at peace, I have my woman, my daughter, and my brothers. I glance over at the bride and groom, noticing the smile illuminating Austin's face as he gazes down at his wife. It took them long enough, but they finally got there.

"Daddy?" Christ I will never get tired of hearin' that? "Did I do a good job with my flowers?"

"Did great babe." I feel arms around me and turn to slide Lyla under my arm. Adrianna is pressed between the two of us as we rock uncoordinatedly away.

"Miles should be here." Lyla has been mentioning Miles more and more lately. Her therapist thinks it's a good idea for her to talk about him. After his death, she blamed herself even after me, the club, and her girls told her repeatedly that it wasn't her fault. Miles died protecting someone he cared about.

Miles' funeral was exactly what he would have wanted. We rode two by two behind the hearse, carrying Miles family. They were never a fan of him joining this life, and after he passed, they hated it even more, but they respected us during the ceremony.

Austin said a few words and I was pleasantly surprised when Bone went up and spoke about how Crusher would have loved the kid. It was simple, quick and a fun party after, honoring the kid that has us all proud to wear the patch across our heart.

"He is here babe. I feel him. Knowing him, he'd be knee deep in two of your coworkers over there drinking." She giggles, and I lean in to kiss her head followed by Adrianna's who noggin began dropping a few minutes ago.

"She's almost out. We should get her home, it's been a long day."

"Just put her my room, that way we can stay and help clean." Before I could finish my thought, Bone comes rushing in covered in blood. His once buttoned up tux is now dirty and drenched in red.

"Bone?" Austin runs over as he collapses onto the ground.

I hand over Adrianna to Lyla and run over as well. He has a deep knife wound in his side and I check him out as Austin screams for Slice to come over. Candice is right behind him as they examine him.

"Aus. Austinthey have her. they have Abby." Bone mumbles out then blacks out. I turn to Chance screaming and rushing out to his bike.

"Fuck. Someone go after him. Now." Austin screams then grabs his cell.

I stand up and turn back to Lyla who is trembling with Adrianna in her arms.

Here we go again.
