Chapter 59

Chance

No signal.

Of course not.

Placing my phone back into my pocket I cross my arms and lean further back into my bike. Closing my eyes, I lean my head up towards the sun, soaking in the small amount of heat we have until the clouds cover it once again. Winter in New York doesn't always get cold but gloomy for sure and I for one, can't wait until we got some heat back in our lives.

"Alright man, I'm ready." I look towards Dipp as he comes back up from the bush he was pissing in. Austin had woke me up earlier this morning, just before the sun came up, and told me he wanted me on a run. Dipp and Ghost were already on their bikes by the time I walked out of the clubhouse.

"Got no signal." Ghost chimes in from behind me and I ignore him. I should have left Abby a message letting her know I was on a run since she most likely already woke up but being on the road for almost three hours made it impossible and when we were finally ready to take a break, there's no service.

"Yeah, saw that. We can try again when we reach our destination. Still go another hour until we get here." Dipp announces then gets on his bike and starts her up. We ride another hour until we get to Edelsberg.

Austin had called in some favors and knew we would need to give them something in return. That's why I was here.

They needed guns. We had guns.

It was something we no longer did, but to protect our club, to protect our family. We would break this rule this one time.

After another hour of driving, we finally pull over to the side of the road. Hoping off my bike I look around and notice we are in the middle of nowhere. Mass fields of grass and farm separate us from what looks like the next town and the sun is much brighter here.

"There they are." Dipp indicates with his chin to our far left where four men stand next their bikes while a large white van is parked behind them.

"What's the play here?" Ghost asks sizing them all up. I've never seen Ghost fight up front, but of what Shane has told me, he isn't one to be reckin' with. Something tells me he is sizing these men up to see what his plan is if he needs to take them all down single handedly.

"Got no beef with them. We give them guns, they give us intel. Let's do this." I demand, then begin my walk over to their leader, Morris.

The Moraders are another MC whom we used to work with when we ran guns and drugs. When I came to prospect with the Warriors, Austin had explained to me what happened with his father, and how we are no longer dealing or running guns. Instead we would be using our legitimate businesses to make profit, leaving the gun and drug running to our old rival the Road Kings MC. Their leader, Snake, was the one that put together this meeting.

"You Chance?" The leader walks forward and lifts his hand for me to shake.

"Yep. Guessing you're Morris?" He nods his head and I take him in. Morris is tall and built. The man looks much too large to sit on a bike and when I see his cut, I see one of his patches says Nomad. "You Nomad?"

"Yeah, last couple years. You got everything?" I nod my head shaking thoughts away that shouldn't be there.

"Let's load them up." Morris shouts causing Dipp and Ghost to walk towards us with two large duffle bags they carried on their bikes on the way over.

We risked a lot coming here this way, knowing we could have been pulled over, but this was a necessity, something we had to do to get ahead.

Dipp passes the duffle bag to one of Morris' men crossing his arms as they peak and check inside. Dipp was around years before I got patched in. He wasn't one of the original members but came in a couple years after they established themselves. He's huge, but an oaf. Still, the brother is one of the loyal ones to the patch.

Ghost is next to drop his bag off and I narrow my eyes at his back. He and Abby are close. It's not something that should concern me but seeing how I held her all night and had my dick hard the whole time, I think I have a right to hate this asshole for always starring at her when she isn't looking. I've known he's had a thing for her since he came in as a prospect, and so far, have kept my distance, but that doesn't mean it doesn't eat at me to do so.

"Appreciate this boys. Tell Austin my prez will be callin' him here real soon." Morris dips his head towards me and turns to walk away but I stop him before he can.

"That intel Morris. Need it brother."

"Shit, almost forgot." He smirks then pulls out a stack of papers from his cut. Sticking them out for me I reach for them and take a look. There are pictures of locations, mostly houses, some businesses and addresses.

"The fuck is this?"

"Intel brother. Those are the last whereabouts of John Alberts. Heard what he did to some of the old ladies. Hope you guys gut this bastard real good." I nod my head and watch as he walks back to the van to help the guys put the guns away in the safe compartments.

"That's what we needed?" Dipp asks as I walk past them to the bikes.

I sure as fuck hope so. I'm ready to end this shit.

Four hours later we are pulling up to the compound. Men are everywhere running and yelling at each other. Panic sets in and I run straight inside in search for Abby. Austin cuts me off before I can get to my room with his palm up.

"She's gone. Had Shane take her to a safehouse. Want her there from now on, and you with her. I'll brief you in after you give me what I need, then you can head over."

"What the hell happened Austin?" I ask but before he can say he's interrupted by a prospect running in.

"Prez, got all entrances covered but he got out near the back fields."

"Fuck!"

"Austin?" I demand and watch as the prospect, whatever the hell his name is scurries out.

"The man that tried to attack Abby at home? One that you two caught? He got away Chance."

"What the fuck happened?"

"Don't know. Max went to go check on him, fucker was gone. Blood everywhere. Think he might have broken his wrists to get out of the damn cuffs."

"Fuck." This is not good. That asshole saw Abby. She isn't safe.

"Know where your head is brother, but reign in it. We will keep her safe. Now what do you have for me?"

I pull out the few papers Morris had given me and hand them over. Austin looks through them and nods his head.

"Don't make sense Austin, these places are in plain sight. Why the hell would the fucker hide there?" They are also all not very far from here. Why would Alberts stay so close to us when he knows we are after him?

"Not sure, need to speak with Snake, see what he's got for us. Abby mentioned that Alberts spoke about the Road Kings. Can you set something up?" I nod my head.

Shortly after prospecting, Austin had come to me to let me know about our rivalry, the Road Kings. I was honest when I told him I knew Snake and how. I was afraid he wouldn't trust me, but instead, he simply nodded and told me he may just use me as a communication bridge. I was fine with that. I've seen enough blood shed in one life, wasn't exactly looking for more.

"Will do. I'll call when I have a meet up time. Gonna head out and release Shane."

"Before you do¡." I turn when I hear the threat in his voice. "I spoke with Abby. She swears nothing is going on between you two and I figure if I ask you, I'd get the same pathetic lie. It's pretty damn obvious somethin' is brewin' between the two of you, but I'll tell you the same thing I told her, you need to either claim her or let her move on. She's not only Bone's only daughter, but a respected part of this club's family. That's your only warning Chance."

"Appreciate the concern for her prez, but nothing is going on between us, and I plan on keeping it that way." I turn and walk out but smile when I hear him mumble that he said the same thing about Candice.

I hop on my bike, waving to Slice and Milo on the way out as they guard the gates. It won't take me long to get to the safehouse Abby and I will be staying at. On the way I contemplate what Austin and I spoke about. Everyone has been telling me that I deserve happiness and that Abby can be it, and as much as I want that, I already know what could happen. I can't let myself forget what's most important.

Blue and red lights appear behind me and I roll my eyes when I realize it's a cop pulling me over. I check the speedometer and know he's pulling me over nothing. Dust settles around me as I come to a complete stop as I eye the black unmarked car.

"Just fucking great." I murmur.

"Sir, turn the bike off please." The officer says stepping out of the car. I don't recognize him, but do as he asks and stand up just in case he tries to take me out here and now. We're not far from the highway and enough cars are passing by, but you never can tell.

"Wasn't speeding." I tell him as he circles me.

I catch the sun gleam off his badge and notice his last name is Simmons.

"Didn't ask you if you were speeding did I?" I narrow my eyes and cross my arms while this fucker comes closer. "Need your identification sir."

"What the fuck for?"

"Give me your I.D. or I promise I will make your life much harder." He states getting more agitated with my attitude. I reach in my back pocket and hand him my I.D. He takes it, looks it over, stares at me, then hands it right back. "I better not see you and your gang around here again, got it?"

"What the fuck do?" Before I can finish he slaps my I.D. Back in my hand along with a small note. His stare lasts forever until he walks backwards, hops back into his patrol car and leaves.

What the hell was that about?

I look down and see the note has writing on it.

-Cameras in your clubhouse-

¡ù¡ù¡ù

I pull up to the safe house and pull out my phone to see an incoming text from Austin coming in.

Austin: Church tomorrow at my house

Placing my phone back in my pocket, I hop off my bike and do a perimeter check around the house. The grass is half dead, the driveway is cracked, the wooden steps leading up to the front door are rotted and the stucco is in need of a deep repair, but it has four walls and roof. It will do.

Lucky, one of the old timers, thought it would be a good idea to keep the house under his name since he is the only one without a criminal past. He helps women that come from abusive and battered homes, get back on their feet by offering them a job and a safe place to stay. Since everything has been going down with Alberts, we have moved the ladies elsewhere and kept all safehouses empty.

I spot Shane's bike as I take out my key and open the door. He has been watching over Abby for me for the last few hours. Abby and Shane are close, and he has warned me numerous times not to hurt the girl.

The interior is complete opposite of the outside. It has a soft brown paint job with small feminine knick-knacks everywhere. The entryway is banked off the open floor kitchen which allows you to see the living area. There are small plants along the kitchen window and a round dining table with four brown chairs. I can see a hallway, which must lead to the bedrooms.

Shane sits on the far end of the couch watching an old black and white movie on the smallest boxed television I have ever seen. Once all this shit is settled, I plan on sitting Lucky down and making him upgrade the hell out of this house.

"Bout' time you got here." Shane says not bothering to turn around and see if it's really me. Fucker has always been good with sensing shit. Drives us all crazy. Out of all the men in the club, I feel the closest to Shane. He was the only one to come at me like a brother instead of a stranger with secrets.

"Sorry, driving back and forth to Baltimore shouldn't have taken me so long." He ignores my sarcasm.

"How'd it go?" This time he turns, and I sit in the mint green arm chair across from him.

"Gave us the info. Was a bunch of addresses that Alberts had frequented in the last few months.

"Surprised Torque couldn't find that shit." His gaze moves back over to the television. I had been wondering the same thing since receiving the info earlier this morning. How could they get something so easily when Torque couldn't?

"Same here. Austin called church tomorrow morning. He wants it at his house."

"Saw the text. Want to tell me why?"

"Got pulled over on my way here." This grabs his attention and he turns his whole body towards me this time.

"He follow you here?"

"Nah. If anything I think he might be on our side." Any other brother would have called me stupid or ignorant. Shane knows me enough to know I wouldn't dare put Abby in danger. Not after what has already happened.

"What makes you say that?"

"Slipped me a note." I pull the folded piece of paper out of my cut and hand it to him. Shane reads it over then crushes it in his palm. "Hence why Austin wants us at his place tomorrow. Might have something to do with Torque's inability to get anything lately. If they can set shit up in our clubhouse without us knowing, they may have permitted his computer."

"Could be a set up."

"Yeah, but at this point, we can't be too careful. There are good cops out there Shane. This guy might just be one. We already know Alberts had shit on the others cops families, could be something along those lines."

"Could be right."

"What about you? You guys get anything on that pimp?"

Shane shakes his head, frustration from his own bullshit day wearing thin on his features. "Nah, nothing. Pimp acted like he didn't even know what trafficking was."

"Shit. Typical. Seems we can't catch a break."

Shane nods his head then stands and walks towards the door. "Abby's in her room on her computer. She said she was tired, but I think she just wasn't interested in my company." I nod my head understanding his meaning.

She was waiting on me.

"Thanks man. See you tomorrow." With a nod Shane walks out and I wait the few minutes to get up until I hear his bike take off.

Abby and I sharing a house for as long as this will last has to be the worst idea Austin has ever had. But knowing I wouldn't dare let any other brother around her, live with her, wasn't happening.

Over my dead body.

I walk through the hallway and knock on the last door I see. Knowing Shane, he had her pick the last room just in case something happens. Abby opens the door with a small smile on her lips and I almost tip over

Holy shit.

She's wearing a white tank with a pink bra and small pink pajama shorts with tiny clouds all over them. She looks incredible.

"Hey, sorry I thought you were Shane."

"Baby, if your answering the door like that for Shane I might just have to kick his ass." She giggles and pulls the door back further so that I can come in.

Abby's room is simple, much like the house. It's white walls are contrasted with small stickers of unicorns and pink cupcakes. I'm guessing it was recently used as a small girls room. The bed is plain with a small black and white blanket and a matching dresser right across from it. Abby's computer is laying on the bed open with some kind of software program running on it.

"What are you doing?"

"Working." She must understand my confusion because she reiterates. "I do some web design on the side."

"Really?" Something else I didn't know about her.

"Yeah. So what's up?" The way she changes the subject leads me to believe she may be a little embarrassed about her hobbies.

"Thought you might like to know what's going on and what we discovered."

"Really?" Her surprising smile is definitely worth bringing her into the mix. I had thought long and hard about what she had mentioned about her mother. Abby isn't an old lady but I'm not stupid enough to say nothing is going on between the two of us, and if it ever does go beyond friendship, then I need her to know I trust her enough to take care of herself, but she can't if I don't let her in. At least with this.

I won't let history repeat itself.

"Yes." Abby walks over, sitting on the small bed and pats the seat next to her. I sit beside her looking at the small white kitten alarm clock and begin. "Austin had us do a run. We needed information and another MC had given it to us." I look back over to her and see she is staring at me with focus and admiration. "The information was on Alberts, it was his last known locations and they aren't too far from here, although we don't think the intel is true enough, we still need to be careful."

"What did you give them in return Chance?"

"Guns." I don't know what I expected when I gave her the answer she was looking for, but it was not acceptance. Abby simply nods and allows me to continue. "That's not all. I got pulled over on the way here. It was a cop, but he was acting strange. Right before he let me go, he slipped me a note. It said there were cameras in the clubhouse."

"Oh my God. Do you think you can trust this cop?"

"Yeah. Something tells me I can. Remember Goldberg?" I ask her and wait for her to nod her head. Goldberg was a cop that Rory, Lyla's piece of shit ex-husband had cornered and used his money to pursue into giving us the location of where they were keeping Adrianna after they kidnapped her. Goldberg's family was being threatened by Alberts, along with many other cops.

"Could be the same scenario."

Abby looks at me for a few seconds then blesses me with a secure smile. One I haven't seen on her face in sometime. It's filled with gratitude and confidence. "Thank you for sharing with me Chance. I know it wasn't much to you, but it means everything to me."

"Good. Now, you gonna tell me what you were working on?" I indicate with my chin at her laptop. I light blush covers her skin and it takes everything in me not to trail it with my tongue.

"It's just some web design." She looks down and begins twiddling with her thumbs.

Oh no. Can't have that.

"Babe, I got that when I walked in, can you show me?"

"You want to see it?" She honestly looks shocked that I would want to see another part of her life, but I supposes I can't blame that insecurity on her. I've always pushed her away.

"Yeah." I give her what I hope is a genuine smile and I'm pretty sure I've succeeded when she claps and jumps up to turn around and grab her laptop. She plops back down on the bed and moves in to my side to show me. I lean in and can smell her hair. Smells like citrus and I have to adjust myself.

"I've got a client that just opened a dog salon. She's in her seventies and doesn't know how to work a computer. This is what I've got so far."

I take a look as she scrolls up and down and points at different items to show me what they mean, and how she put them there. I'm intrigued as I watch how animated she has becomes opening this side of herself with me. Abby's talented, that much is certain, but I wonder how someone so passionate about this, would become a nurse. After almost twenty minutes she stops speaking and smiles to me.

"Sorry, I hadn't realized I just kept talking." The light blush peaks up around her small neck and fuck do I want to take her right here and now.

"Don't be sorry darlin'. I'm glad you showed this part of your life with me. Never knew you enjoyed this stuff." I give her a look and she smiles down at her laptop as she puts it to the side, on the small nightstand.

"Go ahead and ask it." I shrug my shoulders. "You want to know why I am in a hospital as a nurse instead of doing this full time."

"Seems more your speed, although I've never seen you at work." She looks bashful and tries to put her head down, but I use my finger and thumb, grasping her chin to return her gaze back to mine.

"Nursing was the easiest way for me to make money and help dad at the same time." At my confused face, she takes a deep breath and explains. "I took this test in high school. Apparently, I scored the highest in the nation and because of that, they gave me a scholarship for the school of my choice. I went ahead with nursing because my dad needed me. I graduated, got a job, but was miserable. A couple of years ago I decided to get back into web design, I used to do it in college to help pay for books and things. Decided to just do it on the side."

"Bone doesn't need you to take care of him Abby." The look she gives me is skeptical. I know she feels like she is responsible for her mother's death and since she only has Bone left, she looks after him. But at what cost? He belittles her, forgets about her half the time, and all she does is take it.

"I love what I do Chance. I love helping others and am proud of my career. I don't regret my decision." She says robotically. Something tells me she has rehearsed that line several times.

"Well, I for one, think what you just showed me, is fuckin' awesome. I've never seen you so animated. That is something I think you would be damn proud of and it doesn't make you a failure for wanting to do something for you for once, it makes you human."

Her lips slam onto mine and I don't fight it. For fuckin' once, I do not fight this. Abby's body is tense and shaking, so I hold onto her and let her take the lead in this, something tells me she needs to.

I feel her tongue slip into my mouth and that's when my ability to allow her control slips. I take her and lay her onto her bed. Her moans grow raspy as I use my hands to explore her body. Sitting up I roll her shirt up enough to reveal her sexy as fuck pink lace bra.

"Chance¡"

"Let me babe, I need to take you in." Leaning down I place my mouth on her perky breast and feel her shiver. I won't let this get far, not tonight, but hell if I'm willing for it to stop here. I want to make her feel good first.

"God¡. that feels so¡." Her body starts moving as I move the cusps of her bra and use my mouth once more. I lick one nipple while my hand pinches the other and switch back and forth. Abby's hand moves down and cups her pussy and I'm done for.

"Abby¡." I'm losing control.

"Please¡. please Chance."

I don't need any more fucking invitations. I roll her shorts and panties off and take in her trimmed pussy. She tries to hide herself from me by closing her legs, but I pull them back apart and place my mouth on her. Abby nearly jumps out of her skin at the initial touch, but I move in fast. My tongue laps her sweet pussy up and my hands move back up to squeeze her tits.

"Oh God¡...Please Chance¡. I'm going to¡.."

"Fuckin' come babe." She screams as my tongue catches her release.

Fucking hottest thing ever.

She rolls her shorts back up and I lay down beside her facing her while she stays on her back.

"Chance?" She asks through a sedated voice.

"Shhh, we'll stop there Abby, I won't take you tonight, but I soon will. Get some sleep." She scoots closer to me, laying her head on my chest. I wait for her breaths to even out and eventually let myself fall into the peaceful oblivion as well.
