Shadows of my father

Chapter 1

Mummy no don't do this to me don't die!!!!!! Am begging you, I kept crying and shouting my mom's name, hoping she would at least open her eyes and look at me "but she didn't.she lay still on my arm bruised and unconscious.

That's when the truth hit me this wasn't just a random attack we were taken.A mafia boss had kidnapped us with his men all because of some documents ‚my father's will or should I say it's not his .the same will he left behind just days before his mysterious accident.

I looked up at the man staring down at me--his face hard as stone, completely unreadable. Not a single hint of a smile. His voice was cold, sharp, and full of hate.

"Ezebel," he said, "your father worked under mine for years. All he had to do was pay his debt-but instead, he stole my father's property documents. and poisoned him."

He stepped closer. I could feel the weight of his presence pressing into my chest.

"And now you think you can live freely? Live a good life-while your father's sin goes unpunished?" He leaned down, eyes locked on mine. "No. You'll pay.

And you'll start by telling me where those documents are.

Now tell me, "TELL ME WHERE THOSE DOCUMENTS ARE!,his voice echoed through the room like thunder, shaking the air around me I flinched hard, my heart crashing against my ribs.spit flew from his mouth as his voice exploded with rage ,and for a moment, couldn't breathe. his fist slammed against the wall beside my head, making me jolt.

I froze.the tear stopped.my mind went blank.i blinked through my tears, unable to respond.I had no idea what documents he was talking about or if any of this was even real all I knew was my mother was lying still, and I might not live to see the next morning.

"I don't know what document you're talking about,"

I said, my voice.trembling with fear. "Don't blame me... I'm still in shock. And it's not like I was even that brave to begin with."But that sentence seemed to trigger something darker in him.

The next thing I felt was a loud, sharp slap across my right ear-his left hand striking me with terrifying force. The sound echoed in my head like a gunshot.

For a second, the world tilted. His men didn't make a sound. Not a gasp, not a flinch-just cold silence.

That silence alone told me how powerful he was.

No one dared question him. No one even blinked.

I held my burning cheek, tears spilling freely now, my body shaking from both pain and fear.

In my heart, I kept praying -begging-for God to save me.To wake me up from this nightmare. To give me strength..... or a way out.But all I had in that moment was silence... and him.

All of a sudden, it hit me-I had nothing left. My mother was gone. I have nobody left in my life anymore.Something inside me snapped.I looked up at him, my eyes burning with pain, agony, and a rage I didn't know I had. Then I spat right on his face. You crazy bastard," I hissed, my voice cold and sharp. "Do you really think I'd tell you-even if I knew?"In that moment, I didn't feel fear.

All I felt was the weight of everything that had happened that day-loss, heartbreak, and a fire that was no longer willing to be silent. The next thing I felt was a hard blow ,so sudden, so strong.Pain exploded across my face, and then... darkness washed over me like a wave in a dream.

Everything went silent. Everything disappeared.
